Advanced Airborne Burst Illumination Ladar (BIL)
The Burst Illumination Ladar (BIL) is an innovative approach to acquiring images and identifying objects within a scene. BIL utilises unique gated Focal Plane Array (FPA) detector technology to provide 2D and true 3D imaging capability from a single laser illumination pulse. BIL can be used to provide enhanced Recognition and Identification capability in a wide range of air, land and sea electro-optical sensor applications.
AN/ AAQ-24(V) NEMESIS DIRCM - Directional InfraRed Counter Measures
Directional InfraRed Counter Measure (DIRCM) systems are used to protect aircraft from IR guided Man Portable Air Defence Systems (MANPADS) missiles. They operate autonomously by detecting a missile launch, determining if it is a threat and activating one or more transmitters which track its approach and direct a modulated beam of energy to defeat it.
ECLIPSE (Economic Compact LIghtweight Pointer-tracker SystEm) for DIRCM
ECLIPSE (Economic Compact Lightweight Pointer-tracker SystEm) is a stabilised, two-axis pointer tracker designed for use as part of the Directed InfraRed Counter Measure (DIRCM) System. The design capitalises on our existing DIRCM pedigree, formulated through the design and delivery of over 1000 combat-proven transmitters to Northrop Grumman Corporation for use in its AN/ AAQ-24(V) NEMESIS DIRCM system.
IRST (PIRATE) Eurofighter Typhoon InfraRed Search and Track
IRST (InfraRed Search & Track) operates both in air-to-air and air-to-surface modes and performs automatic Search & Track over a wide Field Of View (FOV) used for acquisition, single-target tracking and imaging functions for identification, navigation and landing.
IRST-C-POD InfraRed Search and Track
The IRST-C-POD is an electro-optical Search & Track system housed into an avionic non-expendable store (POD), operating in the far infrared spectrum (8-12 µm). The IRST-C system consists of the Sensor Head Unit (SHU), a Processor Unit (PU), a power management unit PTU (Power Transformer Unit) and a cooling system ECS (Environmental Control System).
