NewsMarch, 08 2011 SELEX Galileo awarded contract to provide 250 star trackers for Iridium NEXT SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has been awarded a contract to provide approximately 250 star tracker attitude sensors for the Iridium NEXT programme, Iridium's next-generation satellite constellation estimated to begin launching in 2015. The Iridium NEXT constellation will include 81 satellites (66 operational low-Earth orbiting satellites to replace the current constellation; 6 in-orbit spare satellites and 9 ground spares) that will gradually replace the existing Iridium constellation. February, 21 2011 Czech Air Force sees benefits of new generation SEER Radar Warning Receiver SELEX Galileo's new generation SEER Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) was recently tested with the Czech Republic Air Force. Results show that SEER had demonstrated extremely high sensitivity and accuracy compared to previous generation systems, performing as promised and fulfilling the expectations of the Air Force. February, 21 2011 SELEX Galileo signs a formal collaboration agreement with the Italian Navy's Centre for Support and Testing SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has signed an important agreement with the Italian Navy's CSSN (Centro di Supporto e Sperimentazione Navale - Centre for Support and Testing) that will see the two organisations work together to develop innovative technologies. January, 26 2011 SELEX Galileo receives EUR 5.3M export order for acoustic weapon location systems SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has been awarded a contract for EUR 5.3M to supply 2 further Hostile Artillery Location (HALO) systems to an existing non-NATO export customer. More than 25 HALO systems have been sold to customers around the world to date. HALO provides troops with timely information on where the enemy is firing from, and data precise enough to engage the threat without risking harm to civilian populations. January, 26 2011 SELEX Galileo's laser business awarded EUR33M orders SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has been awarded contracts worth in excess of 33M EUR for the supply of 196 high-energy lasers to be fitted in United States prime contractor targeting systems.
