NewsOctober, 05 2010 SELEX Galileo's logistic support business shows rapid growth: 110 Million Euro worth of contracts awarded SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has recently been awarded contracts in Italy worth approximately 110 Million Euro for support and service solutions covering a number of programmes. These include the Eurofighter Typhoon, Tornado, Grifo radar, simulators and Mirach target drones. The biggest of these contracts is an award from BAE Systems for the maintenance of Eurofighter Typhoon fleets in the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain. October, 05 2010 £200M contract for Eurofighter Tranche 3A radar awarded to SELEX Galileo SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has been awarded a contract worth more than £200M (approximately Euro 242 million) to supply an additional 88 Captor radar systems for the Eurofighter Typhoon Tranche 3A programme. The Captor Mechanically Scanned (M-Scan) radar is currently the primary sensor on the Eurofighter Typhoon and is considered best-in-class. September, 27 2010 SELEX Galileo's microelectronics expertise to be at the centre of European Microwave Week 2010 From the 28th until the 30th September, SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, will be exhibiting its latest microelectronics and vacuum technology at the European Microwave Week 2010 exhibition in Paris. At the show will be SELEX Galileo's state-of-the-art Microwave Power Modules (MPM), High Power Amplifiers (HPA), solid state microelectronics components, TWTs and mini-TWTs. September, 11 2010 SELEX Galileo highlights continuing industry-customer partnership with RAF Leuchars at Air Show 2010 On Saturday the 11th September, the Royal Air Force (RAF) put on an Air Show at Leuchars Air Base in Fife, Scotland. The show impressed visitors with flying displays and commemorated the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, reprised its role as a key sponsor of the event, helping transform the fully operational airfield into the largest show of its kind in Scotland. September, 06 2010 SELEX Galileo awarded £400M contract to supply Praetorian DASS for Tranche 3A Eurofighter Typhoons SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, has been awarded a contract by BAE Systems worth circa £400M to supply the Praetorian Defensive Aids Sub System (DASS) in support of the Tranche 3A Eurofighter Typhoons. Designed specifically for the Typhoon, the Praetorian DASS provides an unmatched level of situational awareness and protection for crews. The contract will see the first Praetorian delivery taking place in mid 2012. The systems will be supplied to all 4 partner nations; the UK, Italy, Spain and Germany. August, 06 2010 SELEX Galileo successfully completes Gabbiano radar flight trails campaign A new set of flight trials for the Gabbiano radar recently came to a successful conclusion, with the medium power (20W) version of the radar with solid state amplifier and nose mounted antenna proving its capabilities on board AgustaWestland's AW139 helicopter. The flight campaign confirmed the radar's performance and operational capabilities, including surveillance with Track While Scan (TWS), search and rescue, High Resolution Synthetic Aperture Antenna (SAR), Inverse Synthetic Aperture Antenna (ISAR), navigation with ground mapping and weather avoidance. July, 22 2010 Tenth Project Sentinel aircraft fitted with the SELEX Galileo Surveillance Information Management System delivered to Australian Customs and Border Protection Service SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, is pleased to announce the delivery by COBHAM Australia of the tenth and last Project Sentinel DHC-8 aircraft, modified for a civil maritime surveillance role, to the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service. June, 16 2010 SELEX Galileo secures order for naval Janus electro - optic sensor SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company has been awarded a first contract by the Italian Navy, Marina Militare, for the supply of electro-optical naval Janus turrets, derived from the well known Janus sensor for land applications. The naval Janus will equip Italian Navy's patrol boats operating in the Mediterranean in illegal immigration control missions. Janus features outstanding day and night long-range detection, identification, and mission recording. June, 03 2010 SELEX Galileo-led Consortium presents vision for soldiers of the future to the European Defence Agency The SELEX Galileo-led AHEAD Consortium has presented to the European Defence Agency (EDA) a vision of how the modern dismounted soldier could be better equipped in the future. The Consortium has put forward a range of solutions designed to make troops significantly better protected by 2020. May, 28 2010 SELEX Galileo's latest sensor systems on show at UK MoD trials On the 26 May, SELEX Galileo, a Finmeccanica Company, played a key part in the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD)'s trials being carried out under the Electro-Magnetic Remote Sensing (EMRS) Defence Technology Centre (DTC). Starting from Luton, UK and covering an average of 80 miles per day for a total journey of over 1000 miles, the team's efforts will raise money for the CSDST, helping them continue to compete in International skiing events and enter the winter Paralympics in 2014.
