Single Element DLATGS Pyroelectric IR Detectors
Single element pyroelectric Deuterated L-Alanine doped Triglycene Sulphate (DLATGS) infrared detectors have been manufactured at the Southampton site for over 40 years. The process for doping Triglycene Sulphate (TGS) to form DLATGS was developed and patented at Southampton in the early 1970s, and the product range now comprises 100's of variations as a result of developing custom products for specific customers' requirements. The product range includes uncooled and thermoelectrically stabilized detectors, and the company can offer a design capability for non-standard product, including linear and 2D arrays.

  • DLATGS is one of the highest performance pyroelectric materials available commercially
  • Doped with Deuterium to raise Curie Temperature to 59C
  • Doped with L-Alanine to prevent permanent depoling after excursions above Curie Temperature
  • Broad Spectral Response from 1.0 to >100um
  • Standard detectors supplied in TO5 package
  • Temperature stabilisation available in TO66 and TO37 type packages
  • Variety of pinning configurations available
  • Range of thermal time constants available from 4ms to 140ms
  • Range of element sizes from 0.25mm to >3mm
  • Choice of windows
  • Hermetic sealing of windows or Parylene coating for improved environmental durability
  • Custom designs considered
