Infrared DetectorsSELEX Galileo is a world leader in the development of high performance infrared detectors, and one of Europe's largest suppliers. We design and manufacture infrared detectors based on mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) technology for industrial, military and space applications, including thermography, surveillance, navigation, targeting, guidance, search and track, fuzing, smart munitions, and earth observation. We are also the world?s leading supplier of DLATGS pyroelectric detectors for gas detection and analysis, and spectroscopy applications in pharmaceutical, medical, food and petrochemical industries. We offer a range of standard detector products for thermal imaging in addition to custom development for major projects. Latest products include dual band long/mid wave detectors, dual mode active/passive detectors arrays, and detectors for 3D imaging. SELEX GALILEO has over 50 years of experience in infrared detector development, including key technology areas such as crystal growth, semiconductor processing, integrated circuit design, vacuum encapsulation, cryogenics, test, and environmental characterisation, with class 100 clean rooms and advanced manufacturing facilities. Capability We design and manufacture infrared detectors based on mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) material technology for industrial, military and space applications, including thermography, surveillance, navigation, targeting, guidance, search and track, fuzing, smart munitions, and earth observation.Our capability is focussed on high performance cooled infrared detectors into military markets covering the full range of IR wavelengths - SW (1.5um), MW (3-5um), LW (8-10um) and MW/LW - using MCT. We have a range of MCT growth technologies including; Bulk Bridgeman and Liquid Phase Epitaxy (LPE) for established products, and Metal Organic Vapour Phase Epitaxy (MOVPE) for the latest generation products. We are also the world's leading supplier of single element DLATGS pyroelectric infrared detectors for gas detection and analysis, and spectroscopy applications in pharmaceutical, medical, food and petrochemical industries. Single element pyroelectric DLATGS infrared detectors have been manufactured at the Southampton site for over 35 years. The process for doping Triglycene Sulphate (TGS) to form DLATGS was developed and patented at Southampton in the early 1970s, and the product range now comprises 100's of variations as a result of developing custom products for specific customers requirements. The product range includes uncooled and thermoelectrically stabilized detectors, and the company can offer a design capability for non-standard product, including linear and 2D arrays.
